Specialty Water Reclamation Systems
Packaged systems for the recycling of condensate, groundwater, and backwash
When architects and engineers are considering water reclamation systems, they often limit themselves to stormwater (rainwater harvesting) and graywater applications. However, in many facilities there may exist other, considerable (and sometimes even inexaustible) sources of waste water which can easily be captured, treated, and re-used for irrigation, fixture flushing, cooling tower make-up, boiler feed, industrial process, and more. These sources typically include condensate from chiller systems, ground water from drain tile/ sump pump systems, and backwash effluent from water softeners or other filters.
The reclaimable gallons from these alternate reclaim sources may be quite sizeable. For example, a typical triplex (3 tank) water softener in a school or hospital will typically dump between 100,000 and 150,000 gallons of water down the drain each year for its regeneration. Interestingly enough, 60% - 70% of this waste water will usually contain very little sodium chloride (making it a perfect source for a properly designed reclamation system).
Water Control offers packaged turnkey skid systems, combining all of the necessary equipment and controls to capture, store, disinfect, filter, repressurize, and deliver reclaimed water to fixtures and equipment. Our advanced control systems ensure that only verifiably disinfected water is delivered and that (where allowed by code) a freshwater bypass mechanism is immediately activated should filters become blocked, pumps lose suction, power be lost to the system, cistern tanks run dry, or disinfection be rendered innefective.
Our standard, packaged ozone systems are capable of delivering up to 200 GPM output flow and maintaining disinfection in cisterns up to 75,000 gallons. We also offer ultraviolet (UV) systems capable of up to 240 GPM output flow and disinfection of cisterns up to 60,000 gallons.
Available system options include storage tanks (polyethylene, fiberglass, or lined galvanized steel), residual chlorine and dye injection, BMS compatability, delivery system booster pumps, auto-backwashing filters, and more.
We can even design and build packaged commercial water softening skid systems with all of the necessary equipment for backwash (regeneration effluent) reclamation.
To mechanical engineers, architects, contractors, wholesalers, and facility owners, we offer a full line of product literature, including detailed Engineering Guides complete with system schedules and designs, sizing guidelines, isometrics, electrical requirements, connection sizes, and sample specifications. We also offer custom designs in CAD™ and Revit™, as well as complete Division 22 (AIA) specifications.
